"The Compound Effect"

Just finished my first book of 2023 - The Compound Effect, by Darren Hardy (I know, my peers have been hounding me because I haven’t read this, Think and Grow Rich, or Rich Dad Poor Dad).
Below are some of my major takeaways:
- Wealth tends to skip generations. A wealthy family gets complacent, and the next generation doesn’t build the character and work ethic that got the family there to begin with.
- Life is an accumulation of choices. You make your choices and the choices turn around and make you. For better or for worse
- Preparation + Attitude + Opportunity + Action = Luck
- The race horse wins by a nose, but wins 10 times the prize. The horse isn’t 10 times as fast. It’s only slightly better than the competition and still achieves far greater reward
- One extra rep (exercise, cold calling etc) compounded over an extended number of years will have an exponential effect
- Life will organize around the standards you set for yourself
- Your dream is likely bigger than the environment you are currently in
Let me know about any other commercial real estate/business books I should read for the rest of 2023.
